Morning Entry

Student entry into the building continues to be be slower than in the past. To alleviate some of the congestion at the main entrance, students that are being dropped off by parents will enter the building at Entrance 12 (auditorium entrance).

Threat detection has been slower than usual because students are not removing enough items from their bags. Please reiterate with your student that the following items must be removed from bags:
Metal water bottles/ aluminum cans/thermos
Binders
Chomebooks and chargers
Coloring pencil tins
Eye glass cases
Umbrellas

When you share this list with your child please emphasize that even if there are days when they leave their water bottle or binder in your bag it does not set the detector off, that they need to be removed.

BeeTime Help Lab Schedule

BeeTime

BeeTime is launching this week as a dedicated school-wide help lab and study hall, designed to give every student a special time for academic success. All passes for BeeTime are arranged ahead of time either the day before or in the morning, making sure students can focus on getting the support they need from teachers or independently making progress on assignments.

  • All students receive their BeeTime passes before each session for smooth, hassle-free transition,
  • Time during BeeTime can be used to meet with teachers, review class materials, complete assignments, or learn study strategies.
  • See the schedule for the Monday-Thursday help lab rotation

Baker Curriculum Night

Baker Curriculum Night is coming up on Thursday, September 25th at 6:00 PM.
Join us for an evening of connections, conversations, and a peek into your child’s learning journey. Come meet the teachers who make it all happen and see what’s ahead this school year!

Cell Phones Update - Earbuds

Students are doing a great job keeping their cell phones away. However earbuds are posing a problem. Students cannot use earbuds to stream music from their phones. Students using earbuds will have an electronic device referral written.

All students are assigned and required to use their locker to store their cell phones and other personal electronic devices from bell to bell. Locker numbers and combinations can be found in SchoolTool. As stated in the BCSD electronic device policy students are prohibited from using their cell phone during the school day. This includes in the halls and during lunch.
