I want to remind families that we have no school for all students on Monday, March 31st due to our Superintendent’s Conference Day. Have a fun 3-day weekend!
I have a few announcements to share with you today:
Scholastic National Gold Medal:
We are pleased to announce that C.W. Baker High School Senior Chase Goulet has received the highest award possible in high school visual arts, a Scholastic National Gold Medal, for his colored pencil drawing “Colossal Clash on an Alien Planet.” This piece won a regional Gold Key at the CNY Scholastic Art Awards, and all Gold Keys automatically move on to the national level where they are considered for Gold or Silver Medals. National Medalists and their educators are honored with a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 11th, 2025. Congratulations, Chase!
Championship Weekend:
Our Indoor Drumline and our Color Guard teams will be competing this weekend in the championships. The Mid York Color Guard Circuit Championships will be held on Saturday at North Syracuse Junior High School. The ERA team performs at 11 a.m., JV at 1:40 p.m. and Varsity at 7:30 p.m. Ticket Information. The New York Percussion Circuit Championship will be held on Sunday at Gates Chili High School in Rochester. The Baldwinsville Winter Drumline competes at 2:36 p.m. Ticket Information. Go Bees!
National Award
Congratulations to senior student-athlete Nicole Pelletier who placed 2nd in the 2025 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association & the New York State Athletic Administrators Association Dennis E. Fries Scholar Athlete Essay Contest. Great job, Nicole!
Parent/Caregiver Event:
Attention parents/caregivers of students in 7th-12th grade, mark your calendars for an event that explores the truth about teen drug use. The Power of Prevention: Tools for Promoting Health & Wellness in Your Teen event will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at Durgee Junior HIgh School. The free event will feature speakers from Helio Health and Prevention Network and more. Learn more and register on our website.
Marking Period Ends:
The third marking period ends on Friday, April 4th. Report cards will be available in SchoolTool on Friday, April 11th.
Hall of Fame for the Visual and Performing Arts
Congratulations to the 2025 inductees of the Baldwinsville Community Hall of Fame for the Visual and Performing Arts. The Induction Ceremony is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in the C.W. Baker High School Auditorium. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Learn more about this year’s class of inductees on the Hall of Fame’s website.
